Holly was born in 296 AF in Eeko, Matilde. Her parents and sisters moved to Alberona in 294 to Raven Lake, Tall Tale to live in a lovely city home, but they couldn't afford it so they moved close by outside. Holly and her twin sister Serena was youngest of 2 other little girls but, she was the most curious and she was very fascinated with magic. By age 6, her older sisters, Lissy and Irene thought it was strange that she was into magic so much, even her parents started to take notice because her of collecting feathers, herbs and mushrooms and she always had something new in her room everyday which seemed to have came out of thin air. Holly liked magic so much because she had never seen magic or real mage and already at 6, she had became one of the most skilled with it. Good Magic was forbidden by Queen Raven in Rave Lake. Queen Raven was the guild master of Darkest Night, a dark guild full of dark mages and possibly the most dangerous who worshipped the God of Death, Injustice and Evil. Queen Raven was called Queen Raven because she saw everyone of Raven Lake as her slaves and servants so they are to call her that. Queen Raven also wanted to become the most powerful in magic and she had heard of Holly.

Even Serena later discovered she had found magic fascinating too, but she wasn't as good as Holly. Holly and Serena were forced to confess to their sisters and their parents of their study and fascination of magic by their sister Irene. They kept it hidden as long as they could, but Irene was jealous and also afraid that Holly and Serena would be corupt by forbidden magic and become evil like the dark mages from Darkest Night, but she didn't know what the guards, who were dark mages, would do to them. The guards broke into their home in search of their daughters. Luckily, they had hidden Serena and Holly in a hollow tree behind their home. But the guards murdered everyone in the home and they burned the house down, they searched the area for the girls but never found them, so they assumed they were dead. The girls watched as their home burned to the ground. That day, they lost their sisters, their unborn brother, mother and father. They made vow to never use their magic again. Serena felt deep in her heart that it was Holly's fault that they lost everything.

A day later, they were thrown into survival. They were trying to get up North to Snow Shiro, but they were way South. They struggled to survive at a camp they made next to a lake not far from their home. Day went by day and they would visit their burned down home everyday and pray for a miracle. They couldn't go and visit their family's graves -They were probably blank tombstones anyway- but they knew they were watching over them. Rainy nights were cold; Food was hard to catch so they stole from stores and farms at night; Cold wind of storms would blow wind and rain on them and make them sick; They didn't have any other clothes to wear, so they wore torn and dirtied dresses; Sometimes they would hide and steal food from bears and wolves and get attacked by other animals too; They got scars and scratches everyday from falling and running and the people from town or just traveling, would abuse them and try to do perverted things to them. It was hard for them. Holly ended up being the weak one and sad and Serena was the bitter one. Sometimes they cried their selves to sleep And when they went to visit town in search of loot, some of the townsfolk would curse at them and abuse them, some nights were too cold, especially in winter and sometimes they went a whole day without eating, even a week and that went on for two years.

Queen Raven had sent out more mages to look for them, she knew they were still alive. Holly thought maybe they should move the camp, but Serena, the brave one but not tough, was too stubborn. So they waited for a few days to see if they would stop looking for them. But they also had wolves sent after them to kill them and Holly had broken her arm trying to run away from a wolf, with a bite in her arm and on the stomach, she was bleeding and slowly dying. Serena had been attacked too and was bitten on the leg but luckily fought the wolves off and killed one, a young one, she didn't want to kill anyone, but she had too. 

She were lost and bleeding out but her sister was dying and there was nothing else she could do to help her. So she used magic, the only blood magic she knew to save Holly and herself. So afterwards, they set out to Snow Shiro. Along they way they had met lots of interesting people from good guilds and they thought maybe when they were old enough they could start a guild too. By then Holly had become powerful, one of the most powerful as teenager and they were already in Snow Shiro. Holly was happy most of the time, but Serena grew ever darker.

They made a vow when they were little but, they made a new vow to her to keep their magic living forever. Eventually, Holly had gotten married with a knight named John at the age of 25. John was the only person besides her sister, who knew of her magic. She loved him very much. Until one day, Serena had had it Holly being better than her. So she had attacked Holly and killed John. She thought she had killed Holly and she left. No one had ever knew where she went and everyone else thought someone had just robbed in their home, So Holly left it as that.

Years had went by but Holly could never hate her sister, but she was always sad. Holly were 35 and had went back to her home town by then. She had met a girl one day in town named Sienna. She had noticed the alchemy book in her bag, but she felt it was none of her business. A few days later she had realized the guards and the towns people were getting fussy all of a sudden. Holly thought it was because of her, so she decided to pack up and leave. But a day later, she found the girl dead. She felt awful, the same thing had happened to her when she was young. So she wanted to fix it. She used a forbidden blood magic spell to resurrect her but she had to sacrifice her blood to the god of evil, injustice and death. However he had taken more blood than Holly had sacrificed. She succeeded in reviving her but she still had to get back home, which was miles from where she was. As for Serena, she grew more and more jealous day by day as she grew older of Holly's superior in magic than her. As they were leaving Raven had sent Serena after them, she had joined the dark guild. Serena had caught up to them and confessed her jealousy and hate with rage to her sister after she had become. She had also confesses that all those years she had thought it was Holly's fault they lost everything. So she attacked her and Sienna.

So she broke her promise of never killing anyone and tried to kill her sister in the snow. Holly didn't have the will to hurt Serena, but she had to. So she killed her sister. She was now with Sienna, who had loved her more than her own sister. She decided to leave her past behind her and traveled with Sienna to Snow Shiro, that was when it was named Snow Shiro. She had started a guild soon after. Winter happened to have such a strange name because as a child she befriended a wolf, which she named Winter, she finally met up with the wolf again after her sister died...
